Image in America

As u read this, think and ask yourself do you feel as if you don’t like your image. Do u judge people on there image? Do u starve yourself or do you think that to fit in you should have the look. Well if you do, don’t because it is not safe.
Is American society obsessed with image? Do people look in the mirror and call themselves ugly? Do people think that they don’t have the look. Well the answer is yes. Most people in America think that they should be skinny and be able to where a size two. People go on diets just to get to the right size and starve themselves and then they turn anorexia. People think that when they don’t have the look they're not good enough for America. Today even in stories and movies they focus on image and it brings their self- esteem down. Sometimes people kill themselves because they don’t like there image.
Today in society if you don’t have the look you are not able to get into the modeling/video industry. A lot of girls in this society would kill to be a model and if they get turned down because of there image they began to loose their self-esteem and try to fit the description that the agencies want.In our society they have so many diets plans for people. They in courage people to get skinny and have the look knowing that most of the diets don’t work.
Movie and stories today focus on looks. Just like a book we read in English class called Cyrano De Bergerac. In that book it was about a man that was scared to tell his cousin Roxane that he loved her. He couldn’t tell her because he thought that since he had a big nose that she wouldn’t like him. Roxane didn’t no that he liked her but she only liked a man for his looks. Since Cyrano never told her that he loved her she got married to Christian. Christian was not a very bright person he was not intelligent. To keep Roxane in love with him he had Cyrano write her letters because he was not smart/poetic enough to write them himself. When Roxane finally relized who it was that really wrote the letters she fell in love with Cyrano and Christian found out the truth and sadly ran and told Cyrano. So now you know that it really isn't THE LOOK that matters but its the brains.... L0L !!
